WHICH LENGTH IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

The skirt’s reputation as a feminine garment took many years to establish. The style was initially worn by both sexes towards the end of the Middles Ages. Even after this time, it wasn’t uncommon for men to be seen with knee-high skirts in some regions of Europe. Today, we rarely see men with skirts besides the famous Irish kilt, but even this plaid skirt style has emerged in the women’s fashion world since.

While men’s skirts may generally reach the midi length at the shortest,  girls have a much wider selection. What exactly does Mini, Midi and Maxi mean? Here's a short explanation: The Maxi-skirt is a traditional skirt in which the bottom hem reaches down to the ankles so the legs are completely covered. On the other hand, there is the more modern skirt: the Mini-skirt. This length is the shortest variant. The bottom hem of a mini-skirt generally reaches the middle of the thigh. Between these two lies the Midi-skirt. As you would guess, a midi will generally just cover the knees or reach slightly below them. All in all, every skirt has a style and occasion and with all the cool fabrics, patterns, and cuts out there, you’re bound to find something amazing!

What can initially seem like a simple clothing item can actually be much more. Not all skirts are created equal! Besides the length variations, there are a lot of different types of cuts.
