This is not a drill! We repeat: this is NOT a drill! The D3 2001, a physical manifestation of the year 1999, is back from the dead! This shoe defined and embodied an entire era, and now - partially due to pressure from fans - the top-selling skate shoe of all time is back and ready to go!
The D3 has a look you either love or hate. That's not up for discussion. It's well-cushioned, it's huge, it may or may not transform into a spaceship - you get the picture. The tongue is padded, the faux-leather side paneling is sturdy and the toe cap is practically indestructible. The inside includes mesh paneling for more air flow, and the ankle is SO padded, we'd bet they could double as emergency flotation devices. The mesh paneling utilizes an 8-point ventilation system for enhanced breathability.
The D3 2001 has a special sole construction. An "anti-impact" system with multiple helium chambers extends throughout the foot and turns the shoe into an impenetrable fortress of safety. Yes, we said helium chambers. Hard landings? No. Problem. The stabilizing midsole and an EVA insole do their part in adding even more padding to the shoe overall. You want grip? Feel the power that is patented Osiris Supergrip tread.
